Rhythm Sampler CD

The 24 tracks of the Rhythm Sampler CD were selected from the audio recordings of the music contained in the Rhythm Guitar Core Catalog. On 17 of the 24 tracks, rhythm guitar duets (two rhythm guitar arrangements) are sounded, and on the other 7 tracks, rhythm guitar trios are sounded, for a total of 55 rhythm guitar arrangements. All of the 160 rhythm guitar arrangements contained in the Rhythm Guitar Core Catalog, including the 55 Rhythm Sampler arrangements, are accompaniments to guitar ensemble arrangements contained in the Guitar Ensemble Core Catalog. On the Rhythm Guitar Core Catalog recordings, the guitar ensemble arrangements are sounded by other instruments, in order to make the rhythm guitar music more clearly audible.

The multi-layered and often complex sounding music on these recordings results from the combination of relatively simple parts – first a melody, then the other parts of an ensemble arrangement, then the rhythm guitar arrangements. The increasing complexity of the musical texture produced by such a layering of relatively simple parts is demonstrated in the audio Quick Clicks on the Home page of this website. The musical scores included in the Quick Clicks provide a quick intuitive introduction to visualinear tablature, the innovative notational system used for all the music contained on this website.
